It’s estimated 50% of children quit youth sports by age 11 and 70% by age 13. Pressure to specialize early in one sport, increasing financial commitments, too much stress or not enough fun, and the wrong team or individual goals are frequently cited reasons by families for their child leaving sports. Yet research shows children who engage in athletics are less likely to be overweight, have a decreased risk for long term chronic diseases, are more engaged in school, and are more likely to attend college.
Youth sports should be about building confidence, developing leadership qualities, and encouraging a love for physical activity that will continue into adulthood. With participation in youth sports significantly increasing over the past two decades, club sports organizations have become big business ventures. Yet few places exist that allow parents to research and compare clubs to assure it is the best fit for their child and family.
Our mission is to provide a safe forum for players and parents to share experiences, allowing for others to make informed decisions when selecting a youth sports club.
